2 Days
- Day 1 — Ascent to the Otto Meiling Hut
- We’ll meet in Pampa Linda in the morning and begin our approach towards the Otto Meiling Hut, located between the Castaño Overa and Alerce glaciers. Depending on snow conditions, it may take up to 2–2.5 hours before we can put on our skis.
The approach leads through beautiful lenga forest and into the alpine terrain below the glaciers. - For those who prefer a lighter approach, there’s the option of hiring a pack horse service (“pilchero”) to transport equipment as close to the hut as possible — a highly recommended option to save energy for the climb.
- Evening briefing and rest at the hut.
Overnight at the Otto Meiling Hut (half board not included — must be paid directly at the hut, including meals for the guide).
